Attention as a way in

As an artist, I became increasingly curious about what it means to express something true. How much of what we make comes from lived experience, and how much from inherited habits, expectations, or borrowed voices? Where does authentic expression begin, and how do we learn to recognise it?

Mindful creativity begins with attention. By learning to notice thoughts, sensations, and impulses as they arise, we create space between perception and response. In that space, creativity becomes less about assertion and more about listening.

Creating without forcing

These workshops bring together gentle awareness practices, and creative exercises. They are not about achieving a particular outcome, but about entering a different relationship with the creative process—one rooted in curiosity rather than control.

Through guided stillness and reflection, participants are invited to slow down and allow creativity to surface naturally. The emphasis is on presence over productivity, exploration over expectation.

Where this began

A few years ago, I began a daily meditation practice as a way of loosening my grip on ego and the stories I tell myself about who I am. With time, that practice opened small but meaningful spaces—moments of quiet in which perspective widened, and attention softened. Even briefly, it allowed me to step outside myself and see with greater clarity.

At the same time, my creative work was asking new questions.

Just as landscape art asks us to walk slowly, observe carefully, and respond to what is already there, mindful creativity turns that same attentiveness inward. Thoughts, emotions, and patterns become terrain to be explored rather than obstacles to overcome.

These workshops offer a way to encounter your inner landscapes with openness and care—perhaps noticing familiar paths, perhaps discovering something entirely new.
